If you own a DSLR camera like most Moms these days you probably are not loving the bag options that are out there for them. Well then, let me introduce you to the quilted camera bag from *emera. It not only looks great, but it holds a ton! The bag is structured, with padded inserts that you can change around as needed. I can fit my DSLR, diapers, wipes, wallet, phone and so much more all in one spot! It even has a place for your laptop or ipad if you have one. I find myself bringing my camera places now instead of always leaving it at home because I didn’t want one more thing to carry. Yes, I know, you’re welcome.

Two of my favorite things have teamed up to make kid gold. Yo Gabba Gabba Vans will be available in November through shop.vans.com.

I wanted to post about two books I recently discovered. The first one is “Room for Children: Stylish Spaces for Sleep and Play” by Susanna Salk with a forward from designer Kelly Wearstler. This beautiful book showcases images of every type of kids’ space, and for every age range wether it be for a newborn, toddler, or teenager. With spaces designed by top designers such as Sixx Design, Charlotte Moss, Alessandra Branca, Amanda Nisbet you won’t find any cookie cutter, character themed creations here, just a ton of inspiration!

My second book is something I picked up at Paper-Source recently. “My Quotable Kid” is a parent’s journal for all those unforgettable quotes spoken by your little rugrats. The layout offers spaces for the quote, and areas to fill in – who, age, where, etc. – all the things that make it easy for even the busiest of parents to fill out quickly. Too cute – you’ll love yourself for doing it years from now. I promise!

Dear Blog of mine,

Hello old friend, it’s been too long since I last wrote. Please forgive me but work has kept me busy, as it drains every ounce of creativity from my soul. You are always in my thoughts, and I hope to devote more time to you soon. Perhaps I will get a chance to do that follow-up piece to the Mother’s Day blog someday. Be patient, you will always be my first creative love. Even though you clearly come in second.

*heart*, Krista

Check out what I found today – remodelista.com. From room inspiration, top picks, shoppers diaries, this seriously has just about everything you could imagine for designing and decorating. Take a look and enjoy!

What’s better than sugar? How about sugar cubes that are shaped into sweet heart, star, seashell and fleur-de-lis shapes? That’s exactly what you can find at the Gourmet Sugar Company – and it’s all natural, organic and available in different flavors to boot! I personally love their vanilla bean sugar and it’s now available for custom orders. Also, if you have a special event like a baby or bridal shower they will work with you to create custom shapes like wedding cakes, baby strollers and flowers. How cute is that?

Recently the sugars have appeared on, and been served on TV and film sets including… The Bonnie Hunt Show, America’s Next Top Model, The Good Doctor with Orlando Bloom, Comedy Central Roast of Joan Rivers, Real Housewives of Orange County Reunion Show, and  E! Entertainment Red Carpet Coverage for the Emmy Awards, SAG Awards, Golden Globes, Grammy Awards and Academy Awards!

Check out their website, or become a fan of theirs on facebook!

I’ve already proclaimed my love of the furry forest creatures, so here is another thing that makes me smile – whales! If there is something with a cute whale on it, I want it. Here are a few whale finds I collected off the internet. If you have one of your own that you’ve found please share!! I might have to post a part two!

Left to right as usual…. Billabong kids Whale Tale tee at Up and Riding, Bungalow360 Lucille Whale Vegan Messenger Bag (other style options available), Whale loop necklace from iadornu, Whale Retro Kid Shirt Crowsmack, Jonathan Adler Whale pitcher, Organic Whale Tote Bag from Perisa&Corr, LulaWhale wall clock by Lulabird, The Enamored Whale by artist Alberto Cerriteño, Rocked in the Cradle of the Deep fabric from Milktoof, Future Sailors fabric from Milktoof.

Work that is. Yes maternity leave is over. Can you believe I have to leave this sweet soul? I’ll still be blogging away, but hang in there – I might be slower than usual, I have to see how things go.  I have a feeling the next few weeks are going to get UGLY!!! Now that doesn’t mean don’t check back in often – please do. I might surprise myself, and you!

What is more happy and uplifting than a bright yellow room? I got inspired by that idea and decided to find a collection of all things yellow that would go great in a kitchen dining space. Now if I only had a nook like that in my own house!

I love so many of these finds! Here they are from left to right. I’m so happy I could fly 8×10 print by The Love Shop, Summer Soiree Yellow Cheveron fabric from Fat Quarter Shop, Chrysanthemum on Yellow 8×10 print by Priss Designs, Marais A Chair in yellow from Design Within Reach, Coqo Floral Rug Anthropologie, white Docksta table Ikea, Ventura Round Dining table Room & Board, Eames dining chair in yellow Design Within Reach, Finnia Rug from Anthropologie, Yellow flower fabric Etsy, The La Marie yellow chair  Hive, Keep Calm and Carry On 13×19 print from Print Spot, Bertoia side chair in yellow from Knoll Studio.

Today I found the updated version to the silhouette portrait, and the awesome thing is you can get them personalized! Great for anniversary or birthday gifts – these are so precious to hang in your home! You just send in a photo and Nella Designs will create a custom one of a kind print of your loved ones. What’s more perfect than that?!
